“When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die.”
Action first, words after, haha.
Here's the trailer:
And now, the words. Where do I start?
I'm excited. And I hope that you are too after watching that. This looks like it is going to be very entertaining, but posessing an emotional, cerebral and dramatic core. It also looks as though there's going to be a 'them' and 'us' dynamic in this movie too (Selina Kyle's intimate speech in Bruce Waynes ear). Just how many levels that subject will touch on is anyone's guess. It should be interesting to see. And it looks as though it will have many, many jaw dropping/startling moments (the destruction of the football field and the 'Batwing' to name just two things we witness here.)
I don't know alot about the Bane character. Apart from hearing about the defining moment of his comic book confrontation with Batman while I was on a comic book reading 'sabbatical'. But from I saw in the trailer, this incarnation of Bane looks to be just as formidable an opponent, not just judging from his size, but from his bearing and his actions. He looks like a mercenary the way he is dressed. But his coat suggests a certain casualness or confidence. So maybe not a mercenary, but more of a guerilla fighter. That may mean he has been trained to fight one way but subsequently learned to fight, or perhaps think tactically in another fashion. He strikes me as more of a Major General in military parlance. One who might lead a brigade of men, or in this case - judging by the amount of renegade prisoners weilding weapons with relish - an army of brigands. But this is all supposition based on two minutes of film, time will tell the full tale and reveal all, as they sometimes say.
I'll tell you right now that all things being well, I'm going to see this at an IMAX cinema. No question about it. It has to be done.
