Film
A couple of posters for
Captain America: The Winter Solider
have been released. One features Agent 13, the other is an awesome
throwback to the seventies style of movie poster (that’s the one to the
right). More at
CBR.
Tom Cruise dies a lot in the latest trailer of
Edge of Tomorrow. Adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka's
All You Need is Kill, the film stars Tom Cruise as a soldier trained by Emily Blunt who can resurrect. More on
Youtube.
Unsubstantiated
rumours are swirling that The Rock will be Lobo at some point, but he
is for sure Hercules. There’s a trailer that proves it, something we
like to call “irrefutable evidence.” More on
Youtube.
The latest DC All Access contains footage of the next DC animated film,
Son of Batman. It also has voice actor Jason O’Mara reading a grocery list in his Batman voice and some news about
Swamp Thing. More on
Youtube.
Video Games
Facebook
has bought Oculus VR for $2 billion. The virtual reality headset
company began as a Kickstarter that developed a head-mounted display for
video games. As a result,
Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson has
cancelled plans to make a version of
Minecraft for Oculus. More at
Time.
The special edition of the upcoming
Wolfenstein game,
The New Order, has something very notable missing: the game itself.
The Panzerhund Edition
of the game comes with “a vintage footlocker-style box…, a set of 14
full-color weathered-looking postcards,” and other goodies, but the game
itself is sold separately. More at the
AV Club.
Comics
Titan Comics has released David Leach's
Psycho Gran exclusively on Comixology. The classic strip is getting a whole new 28-page story, only on the digital distributor. More at
Bleeding Cool.
Valiant Comics has released a trailer for
RAI #1 and bumped up its release date to April 30. The new ongoing will be written by Matt Kindt and drawn by Clayton Crain. Watch it below:
Television
Gotham has released two official images from the upcoming look into the early days of Jim Gordon: one of Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, the other of Ben McKenzie as James Gordon. More on
Gotham and
McKenzie’s Twitter feeds.
Head of Marvel TV Studios Jeph Loeb has announced that
Daredevil will begin shooting in July. The series is one of four Marvel series heading to Netflix, along with
Luke Cage,
Jessica Jones, and
Iron Fist. More at
Hitflix.
Amy Acker will play the cellist, Coulson's love interest, in upcoming episodes of
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This will be Acker's fifth Whedon-related project. More at
TV Guide.
Fans of LEGO and
The Simpsons
will be able to get their hands on some official Simpsons minifigures in
May. Characters include the Simpson family, Milhouse, Mr. Burns, and 11
more. More at
Kotaku.
This is pure speculation but I am too excited not to mention it. There is talk of a
Community movie with Justin Lin, director of such episodes as "Modern Warfare" and "Interpretive Dance," at the helm. More at
TV Guide.
Netflix will stop streaming
24 for its subscribers on April 1. So those who want to catch up on the series before the upcoming miniseries
Live Another Day have less than a week. More at
Variety.
