Comics and Books
Wolverine has just gotten an expiry date. Marvel has announced a Logan-centric event called
3 Months to Die that will count down to the character's possible death in September. More at
CBR.
Want to read an essay on the history of the Quidditch World Cup by J.K.
Rowling? Well, it's available for free on Pottermore. More at
Deadline.
June will also mark the debut of a new series for the
Hulk.
Savage Hulk will take a similar continuity-light approach as
Savage Wolverine and will feature Alan Davis and Jim Starlin as creators. More at
Marvel.
Diamond Comics has released some stats on comic sales in February. They
were down overall, not surprising for the time of year, with Marvel
leading the market shares. More at
Bleeding Cool.
Television
Constantine has released its first image of John Constantine in full costume. He's missing his signature cigarette but looks great. A good costume does not a Hellblazer make, however. More at
CBR.
Doctor Who has a new foe in the
form of a banker. Keeley Hawes will play one of the new Doctor's first
villains in the next season. More at the
BBC.
Remember Minkus from
Boy Meets World? Well, he will be back for an episode in
Girl Meets World, a show where we all pretend kids will be watching and not adults. More at
E! News.
Louie is coming back, on May 5 to be exact. The critical hit comedy
starring Louie CK will have fourteen episodes in its new season. More at
the
AV Club.
Netflix has released some teaser images of the next season of
Orange is
the New Black. The next season of the black comedy will available on
June 6. More at the
AV Club.
Dreamworks is set to release some new content over Netflix. Three new
animated series,
King Julien,
Puss in Boots, and
VeggieTales, will be
released sometime in late 2014. More at
Deadline.
Film
Sebastian Stan, the man playing the Winter Soldier in the next
Captain America film, has a nine picture deal with Marvel. Speculations will ensue, but my money is on him replacing Chris Evans after he grows weary of playing the same character over and over again. More at
Newsarama.
Speaking of
Captain America, the franchise's third installment has set a familiar release date: May 6, 2016, the same release date as
Superman vs. Batman. So we'll see how that works out. More at the
Hollywood Reporter.
First star Sacha Baron Cohen, now director Dexter Fletcher, the Queen movie is having its fair share of departures. The former director of a film about Freddy Mercury has left, citing creative differences. More at
Deadline.
Video Games
The
Infinite Crisis videogame has now entered open beta. The free-to-play MOBA will feature all your favourite DC characters. More at
Infinite Crisis' website.
