Who's Who - Nathan Patton

Often a new writer will pop up @ComicBookBin write a few articles in the span of a few months and then disappear completely. It’s a normal occurrence and does not worry me. Some people find the grind of writing week after week too consuming and not what they had expected. Many expect instant glory and fame. That rarely happens. I’m neither famous and glorious, even if I’ve been writing about comics for a decade now.
Nathan Patton would be one of those talented writers who showed promise, wrote about five articles and then was never heard from again. He mostly stuck to Marvel Comics and works by popular writers like Mark Millar. However, while trying to track his current whereabouts, I noticed that his pen name was that of a fictional comic book character in the Batman series. Nathan Patton is a detective in Gotham City. Unless I go dig through years of emails, I probably won’t find out who Nathan was. He wrote for just two weeks in February 2004 and was never heard from again.
While constructing this series, I did ask myself if I should put a threshold on who I cover, I mean, many people that have contributed to ComicBookBin have written about one or two articles only. Should I base my Who’s Who feature on quantity or quality? If I do cover every single person that has ever written an article here, I might take me longer than expected and I may not have much to say about someone who wrote one single article and then was never heard of again. Anyway, I think Nathan Patton’s five articles qualify for coverage here, but I’d sure would like to know more about him. I’ll have to go dig through my old emails and figure it out. What I’m learning is that the Internet creates relationships and connects people to one another in various ways. Sometimes, these connections hold on for years, like in the case of Philip Schweier. Sometimes, they are more fleeting like with Nathan Patton.
