Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment, the only entertainment group made up of
military veterans, announces its new comic book series, CITY OF FIRE, to
be released in Fall of 2007.
CITY OF FIRE, with brutal honesty, tells the story, for the first time,
of what really happened on the morning of June 24, 2004, when insurgents
set off several car bombs, killing and injuring hundreds, assassinated
two key police officials and then overran a police station and mosque in
the heart of Mosul, Iraq, in an attempt to cripple a city and bring down
a country, and how the men of the 1/23rd Blackhawk company, exhausted
already from three straight days of combat, went back into the city to
take it back.
Heading up the comic series is Ernesto Haibi, Tom Waltz, Gerry Kissell
and Jon Alderink. Ernesto Haibi, an active duty soldier in the U.S.
Army stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA, and whom also fought in the battle
depicted in the comic City of Fire, hosts a live web talk show, and has
appeared on NPR's All Things Considered for his outspoken opinion on
war, politics and religion. Ernesto is also an accomplished writer, with
one of the most popular blog spots on the Internet regarding the war in
Iraq "A Candle in the Dark". Tom Waltz, a resident of San Diego,
California, is the writer and co-creator of the critically acclaimed
comic book series CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE (IDW Publishing) and the
forthcoming graphic novel FINDING PEACE. Gerry Kissell, a resident of
Springfield, Missouri, is a published artist, cartoonist and writer and
has been working for over twenty years in the publishing field. His work
has covered a variety of subjects from limited edition Star Trek art
prints to political cartoons for the Federal Way News, in Washington.
In the mid 1990's, Gerry had a successful serialized sci-fi comic series
in the Octopus Magazine called BEOWOLF: Seven of Our Own. Jon Alderink
of Holland, Michigan, is the only non military member of the creative
team at Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment. A student of Joe Kubert, the
incredible and most prolific war comic book artist of the 20th century,
Jon is a gifted artist himself, who brings a lot to the table and the
mission.
