Marvel Announces Infinity

Today Marvel announced what the company claims could be the biggest Marvel event ever. The title in question is simply called Infinity. The free comic book day day story will be where the first chapter of the event will unfold. The teaser image also announces two big names at Marvel, Hickman and Cheung. Featuring the villain for the upcoming Avengers 2, Thanos.

Jonathan Hickman is currently writing the two big Avengers titles at Marvel so the fact that he is spearheading a big event should seem appropriate. One of Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers titles has been dealing with the Infinity Gems since the first issue. The Infinity Gems have immense power and when combined give absolute power within the confines of the Marvel Universe. Thanos became famous when he used the gems in question in the Marvel event called Infinity Gauntlet to attempt to kill the superheroes of earth. Thanos has recently been resurrected from death in Avengers Assemble. The upcoming story is actually the second big Marvel event this year, the first being Age Of Ultron. Thanos was created by Jim Starlin who will hopefully have a hand in the upcoming event.
