Marvel Announces Thanos Rising

Earlier this morning Marvel made a huge announcement about a Marvel Now! comic shrouded in secrecy until now. One of the more strange Marvel Now! teasers last week included the names Aaron and Bianchi and the word birth. Marvel has just announced that this is indeed an origin tale for Thanos the mad titan called Thanos Rising.
As of this moment little is known about the project other than an interview with an Aaron on Marvel’s official website.
“This is not a superhero story. There are no good guys swooping in to save the day here. This is the origin story of a very bad dude. A cosmic mass murderer.”
For some Marvel fans with a keen eye this announcement is very exciting but a little sad as well. The reason why being Marvel oddly canceling Joe Keatinge and Rich Elson’s Thanos: Son of Titan mini-series before it even saw the printed page. Even though the news is bittersweet an origin for the mad titan is something that fans of the character have been clamoring for. On the Marvel official website Aaron also states how he will attempt to be true to the original creator of Thanos “Jim Starlin.” Even though this new Marvel title is slightly controversial for most fans it will be something to enjoy before the villain makes his debut on the big screen in an upcoming Marvel movie.
