Who's Who - Kevin Scott
By Hervé St-Louis
July 27, 2012 - 14:39
Kevin Scott is a British marketing guy who specializes in the field of companies working for users with disabilities. Kevin is also a man with a great heart well-known to his close friend as that one guy who was there for you when you were in need of a friend in your darkest hour. Yeah, that’s the first quality one always remembers about Kevin beyond his love for comic books, Marvel Comics, specifically.
Kevin has more enthusiasm than an army and lots of creative ideas about meeting a goal – he’s a marketing guy after all. Kevin Scott was one of the first recruits at ComicBookBin and joined up the team along with several other writers recruited from JoeQuesada.com. There he was a very prolific contributor and looked very positively at the opportunity to write about Marvel Comics.
One pet peeve of Kevin has been to alert comic book letterers that they should pay attention to the quality of their lettering and make their work accessible for users with visual needs. Making lettering in a comic book is not the kind of fight the average comic book fan goes for or even bothers to acknowledge, but it is a very important issue. Kevin has always spoken up about this rarely commented on issue. While you read this article, pay attention to this issue of accessible reading which affects many comic book fans with visual disabilities and tell your favourite comic book creators and publishers that they should pay attention to that in the comics they publish.
Kevin Joined ComicBookBin in June 2003 and had a stellar record writing about Marvel Comics back then. Kevin has been affiliated with ComicBookBin on and off since then always coming back for short stints before life takes over and makes his contributions rarer. Yet, I can still count on Kevin to back up ComicBookBin when we need him and he continues to be a friend of mine, after nine years. Most of Kevin’s writing can be seen in the early Marvel Comics reviews published here. Many of his articles are still attributed to "Koncise" one of his preferred screen name.
