Lion-O attempts to revive Prince Adam using the magical energy of the Spirits of Evil but the problem is that they contaminate the deceased hero and make him a threat. On Eternia, the Spirits of Evil are attempting to conquer the planet while Skeletor’s men and the mutants are looting everything they can get their hands on. Is all hope lost?
I liked the Lion-O / He-Man fight a lot. I know that it is cheesy but it is the one fight everyone wanted to see anyway. These two characters have been compared to one another so many times that a good fight once and for all could settle the which one would win a fight. I also like the upgrade that Lion-O gave to Cringer. It was really clever and fit the whole story. The writers of this comic know these characters well and play quite well with their backstories. It’s not a dumb comic adaptation of some cartoons.
Freddie Williams continues to be super cool drawing the one comic book he was meant to draw. He keeps amazing me by how much I cannot imagine anyone capturing the action from these cartoon properties and the overtly muscle frames of the characters so well.
