What
originally began as an innocent role playing game has evolved into a challenge
for Harley, as the Enchantress threatens to turn Harley’s world into a
mystical, magical land of knights, damsel, dragons, and dungeons. Sounds fun,
but this is no game for anyone concerned.
The story is a pleasant diversion from Harley’s trials as an agent of chaos and order. With no powers (magic or otherwise), she proves herself quite the opponent for the Enchantress. Despite her portrayal in film and television, it’s easy to overlook the fact that she has PhD, so sure, she’s crazy – crazy like a fox.
Otto Schmidt
continues to handle the art, and I sincerely hopes he sticks around for the
foreseeable future. His style suits Harley
Quinn – the comic book – to a T. DC couldn’t have made a better
choice. I can easily see him becoming the go-to artist for the character.
But there are surprises to come, and greater challenges in store. Harley has proven her ability to handle the supernatural and the cosmic with equal amounts of angst and sensibility. But what is yet to come may be something that could shatter her world.
