Green Lanterns teamed with Yellow, the white Lantern (Kyle Rayner) joining forces with the Blue (or is it the Indigo; I’m not certain). Either way, it’s a broad palette that may lead to a greater union among the emotional spectrum. We’ve seen the Reds and Oranges, either in Hal Jordan or Green Lanterns, so there’s no shortage of representation.

But even as John Stewart and Soranik continue to blend their forces, there are those elements that prefer to march to their own drum (Guy Gardner, I’m looking in your direction…). Whether that will unravel the alliance between the Greens and Yellows remains to be seen.

Ethan Van Sciver returns to perhaps his remembered project, which is always a joy to behold. It’s like seeing your favorite band in concert again after many years, with no sign of aging or dwindling talent. It is my hope he will remain associated with the GL franchise for many issue’s to come.

My only concern with this title is how to give so many players adequate “page time.” It reminds me of the old days of the Legion of Super-Heroes, but that title convinced me that in the hands of a good writer, it’s possible to allow everyone’s favorite character some time in the spotlight. Robert Venditti seems up to the task, so perhaps I shouldn’t fret over it.
