It’s 20 years ago and the Green Hornet and Kato are about to retire. However, the crime bosses decide to unite to fight the gangster and his bodyguard. In Japan, another crime bosses prepares to leave his family so he can stop the Green Hornet himself once and for all. Should the Green Hornet and Kato start worrying?

This story is linked to the other one running in the current Green Hornet series written by Kevin Smith. The plot has nothing new to bring to the table as the set up with the multiple crime bosses and the Japanese villain has already been explored to death in the other series. Heck, we’ve even witnessed the last fight the Green Hornet had with the villains. What else is new? In terms of plot, this story was unreadable. I could not tell whom was whom from the many criminals and henchmen. The story jumped all over the place from several characters all having interior monologues with the only thing differentiating them being the colouring of the captions. There was a sequence with some guy called a dead beat that did not make any sense and offered no resolution. There was another sequence with the Green Hornet and Kato attacking a plane for no reason and no plot set up. The whole thing was a mess and lacks a strong editing hand from the editor of this book. I have no ideas where Parks wants to go with this story?
As for the artwork, it was as bad. All the bad guys looked the same, making knowing who was saying what more difficult. Then the action and the posing of the character was a bunch of cliché action scenes that didn’t help me as reader figure out what was supposed to be happening within the panel. It was really bad and a very weak attempt at a Green Hornet comic book. I supported this line before because I really like the characters, but material like this makes me seriously question future purchases. This comic book should not have been printed and sold to readers without major revisions.
