Trumpeted as “the best comic book of the year” by legendary Marvel Comics artist Mike Deodato (Captain America, Spider-Man, The Avengers),“FADE OUT: Painless Suicide” is a generational time capsule filled with mystery, dark humor, and pop culture.

Kurt wants to kill himself, but has no idea how to do it without going to Hell, letting his friends down or disappointing his mom. Also, he hates the taste of the gun. Before he dies, Kurt has to take care of his crazy girlfriend, as well as the perfect girl he just met, all while trying to catch a serial killer. How will Kurt commit Painless Suicide?

"Fade Out: Painless Suicide" is a sarcastic, reflective drama with acidic humor that offers a unique look at the generation Y malaise. An award winning graphic novel from a Brazilian team of creators: writer Beto Skubs, artist Rafael de Latorre, and colorist Marcelo Maiolo.

“Skubs' story flows like a good movie, and de Latorre’s art complements the writing,” raved Deodato. "The pace and narrative are on par with some of the greats. From cover to cover, it’s an enthralling read, with a surprise ending. The two last lines alone are worth the purchase.”

Author Beto Skubs is a writer for TV and Film, currently attending UCLA’s prestigious MFA Screenwriting program on a Fulbright Scholarship. Artist Rafael de Latorre worked in advertising, and was part of the collaborative international team of “Lost Kids: Seeking Samarkand.” DC Comics colorist Marcelo Maiolo’s credits include “Superman," "Teen Titans," and "Green Arrow."

“Fade Out: Painless Suicide” is a one-shot graphic novel. Winner of the  “PROAC" grant and nominated for the prestigious HQMix Award as “Best Independent Graphic Novel” in Brazil, “Fade Out” is available digitally in English for the first time on ComiXology,  and a Kindle edition is forthcoming.
