The Joss Whedon helmed
Avengers movie is rapidly nearing the completion of it's shooting schedule. The cast and crew have been busy in various locations including New Mexico and Pennsylvania. Cleveland, Ohio has been the focus of the most recent filming since early August with parts of downtown Cleveland (Ninth Street) doubling for 42nd Street in New York City.
Ohio has also seen other areas and landmarks used for filming, such as the NASA Plum Brook Station, Chevrolet Powertrain Plant, the Veterans Memorial Bridge and Public Square.
These pictures were taken (in the pouring rain no less!) by my girlfriend with a view to sharing them with the readers of the Comic Book Bin and I for one am exceptionally grateful to her for that. It's quite staggering and impressive the work that has gone into grounding this movie in reality. The props shown in these pictures could be from a recent catastrophe they are so uncannily accurate. It's good to see that this won't be a complete CGI - fest and that attention to detail is an ongoing consideration.
I don't know about you, but after seeing these pictures, I'm looking forward to this ensemble piece more and more.
