And Hugo’s boss is none too happy about that. Killer Frost forewarns him that the General must be informed. Is Killer Frost to be the source of the wintery disaster? That’s up to Zatanna to figure out, as magic clashes with science. But the General has other plans for Strange.
The series features a number of obscure/forgotten female characters, who historically may have relegated to supporting roles. It’s refreshing to see them developed further than they have in the past, or at least in different ways. These variations could lead to greater opportunity within the mainstream DCU, and I like those prospects.
The artwork here is, in my opinion, perfect. Sometimes, depending on the subject matter, I appreciate greater stylization from the artists, but just as often I enjoy what might be called a “house style.” If DC Comics has a house style, I would consider it something reminiscent of Dick Giordano and José Luis Garcia Lopez. Not a bad combo, and the art staff for Bombshells seems to hit the target here.
