One of the most eagerly awaited comic book adaptations, The Watchmen (March 2009), has it's first film trailer.

And it looks good.

Manhattan Project

Adapted from the landmark work by Alan

Moore, this trailer looks, at first glance, to capture very much of the spirit of that work.

The Watchmen features Carla Gugino, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Malin Akerman Stephen McHattie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is released in March 2009.

Previously thought of as unfilmable, director Zack Snyder (300) may well have done what has up until now proved to be difficult in cinema....And that is to perhaps do some justice to one of Alan Moore's foremost creations.

Time will tell of course. But the signs are very promising.

The Watchmen is set in a mid-eighties alternative America, where costumed heroes are real (and outlawed) and nuclear war with the Soviet Union is becoming an ever more real threat.

Featuring
Carla Gugino, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Malin Akerman Stephen McHattie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, The Watchmen is released in March 2009.
