Chloe witnesses the true form of Astrid Mueller’s niece and almost loses it in the process. Meanwhile, Mueller’s number one fan has arrived in town and desperately wants to meet her. What sordid plan does he have for Chloe, the poor soul Mueller chose to interview the crazy fan?

I’m glad that Gail Simone is writing works like this. It’s crazy with a European vibe and as unsettling as anything Grant Morrison has written, except that it makes sense, provided the world of a cult dealing with a demon invasion can be sense-making. The characters in this series are complex. Here is one series where the female characters relationships with one another has nothing to do with how they relate to one male character. There is a light dark humour in this series that reminded me of Preacher.

There are minimal shadows in Walter Geovani’s work. I don’t believe that he can’t play with light and dark. I think that given the very bright environment he plays with, that he purposely avoids strong shadows. It makes his characters, regardless of the colouring feel as if they were over-saturated. This is not a criticism. This is very effective for the kind of story that he draws and the bright settings his characters thrive in.
