Blackest Night: Directors Cut

Dark Town, After Dark
In a move which could just be brilliant,
Blackest Night Directors Cut, is the comic book industry version of a high end movie DVD's extras package. Those special edition DVD sets we see chock full of goodies? This is it in comic book form. Crammed full of insights, Easter Eggs, hidden meanings and never before seen pages and scripts from the series and previews of
Brightest Day, this will be an 80 page spectacular.
I have to say that I like this idea very much. Using the favourite trick of the movie industry and transplanting and transferring it to the comic book industry - that's clever. I'm not sure why nobody thought to present their material in quite this way before! Time will tell how successful this is, and how many other comic book publishers follow suit for their 'event' series. I'll be interested to see what other comic book publishers come up with
in response. I'm sure they will try to go one better, possibly by having a related CD or DVD or some other kind of cover mount, or more likely, include it in a sealed bag. Food for thought.
