Comics to Television
Constantine
NBC has released the official trailer of its new
Constantine series. The television series adapting DC Comics’ Hellblazer comic book series will air on Friday nights in the fall 2014. The only missing element is John Constantine’s cigarette in his mouth!
The Amazing Spider-man 2
The Amazing Spider-man 2 did not do well at the box office for the May 9th weekend. In fact it came in second after Seth Rogen’s Neighbors. This is a considerable drop for a super hero movie featuring Marvel Comics’ best known and most popular character. As we wrote in ComicBookBin’s review of The Amazing Spider-man 2, it is not good. Neighbors earned $51.1 million in the United States. The Amazing Spider-man 2 earned $37.2 million. More at
Hollywood Reporter.
Ant-Man
Marvel Cinematic changed the
Avengers’ comic book history by substituting founding members Ant-Man and the Wasp with Hawkeye and Black Widow. Nevertheless, a movie featuring Ant-Man has been on the books for over a decade. Director Edgar Wright has been associated with the project since 2006. His take on Ant-Man features Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) as the original super hero whose suit Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) steals.
Lost’s Evangeline Lili appears to be set to play the Lang’s clove interest as the Janet van Dyne, also known as the Wasp. Her casting puts an end to older rumours that Desperate Housewife
Eva Longoria would play the heroine.
Ant-Man will reach movie theatres in July 2015.
