The Flash #36
By Paul Mason
December 14, 2017 - 09:49
There has been a murder which allows Barry Allen to flex his CSI muscles.
Turbine after being lost in the speed force was twisted into a rogue. And the Flash discovers his strangled body at Iron Heights. As Allen and Singh walk through the pipeline where Iron Heights keeps its metahuman criminals Trickster shows up.
There is also an appearance of Godspeed as he is locked up in Iron Heights. Overall though not much has happened over a third of the way through the issue. A recap of the Flash's career in Rebirth(and by the way DC did away with that branding this month) and some truly gorgeous art including full page splash of Flash running on water. Porter has done an amazing job making everything stylistic and detailed so each page has something to gawk at.
Meanwhile Kid Flash foils a bank robbery by some truly C list villains.
It seems like Williamson is trying to move on and introduce new elements to his story arcs and there is a lot in this comic to capture the readers imagination.
But even bridging to a new arc he refers back to August Godspeed and references Black hole as if he can’t let go of the previous storylines and move forward. As stated though the art is top notch. Speedsters as drawn as they should be in costume dynamically.
Rating: 7.5 /10
